ArtWear 2019

ArtWear is the annual juried exhibition of the graduating senior student work in the Fashion Design program in the UNT College of Visual Arts & Design. The 2019 fashion design seniors have dedicated countless hours day and night to produce their own unique collection to showcase their skills and talent after intense, rigorous training. Each year the senior fashion students compete to have their best creations selected to walk the runway as they make their debut into the fashion industry. ART 4120/5000 ART ON LOCATION (New York) – Maymester 2018

ART ON LOCATION (New York) – Maymester 2018
(***Enrollment now open!)

CVAD will offer two sections of ART 4120/5000 this summer in New York, NY during the Maymester session. These two sections will be co-taught by New Media Professors Liss LaFleur and Jonathan Molina-Garcia, and are open to all CVAD undergraduate and graduate students. This course can substitute or count as an Advanced Art Elective needed in CVAD degree plans.

As a cohort, the group will visit major museums, galleries, and artist studios. This summer, the course will focus on using the Polaroid 20X24 camera. Named the “Mythical Beast,” this one-of-a-kind 300 lb Camera has been used by famous artists like Andy Warhol, and has photographed US presidents and celebrities alike. After 2018, this camera and all film needed to use it will become extinct. For this course, students will work collaboratively with the instructors to create lens-based works in the Polaroid studio at Lincoln Center. Time in the studio will include: lighting, alternative processing techniques unique to this camera, and collaborative production.

Course will include:
- 2 on campus meetings in early May
- Trip to New York (May 21-28)

***If interested, contact Professor LaFleur at Liss.LaFleur@unt.edu for additional information.
